Why a Diamond Painting from the Carat Art Collection?

Have you ever wondered why diamond paintings from high-quality diamond painting shops are so much more expensive compared to paintings offered by large discounters or online retailers on many different platforms?
The answer to this is quite simple: You almost always pay for what you ultimately get – in both a positive and negative sense.
And what you can expect and get with a Diamond Painting from our artist collection is explained in detail in this blog post.

1. The real motif size

In contrast to many cheap suppliers, we will deliver your Diamant Painting motif in the size we have indicated in the shop. A deviation of a few millimetres is completely normal, but we never measure the canvas size, but always the motif size. This means that a picture with a size of 50x70cm has a printed area of approx. 50x70cm, the canvas itself is then approx. 8cm wider and 8cm higher.

2. High quality Diamond Painting Canvas

Our so-called “Short Lint Canvas” corresponds to the highest quality of canvas used in Diamond Painting. It has a high cotton content, is soft, does not crease and lays flat on the table almost by itself and in no time after unpacking. Stitched edges, a felt-like back for slip-free working and a glittery finish on the front round off the pleasure of working with our canvases. If you have ever tried to work with a canvas that is far too stiff, or if you have ever had a canvas that began to unravel at the edges, you are guaranteed to enjoy working with one of our artist canvases.

3. Clear print

Cheap canvases usually do not only have cheaper materials, but also the printing often has to be saved so that these diamond paintings can be offered at such low prices. This concerns both the care in the printing process as well as the quality of the printing machines and the cartridges. Unfortunately, this can very often result in pale contrasts, distorted colours and blurred symbols, which can lead to a lot of frustration when working.
The paintings from the Carat Art Collection, on the other hand, are printed with the most modern printers, giving them a high-resolution and therefore clear HD print with easily recognisable symbols. In addition, we check the selection of symbols for each canvas before printing to avoid similar symbols.

4. Poured glue with maximum adhesive strength

When making Diamond Paintings, there are different ways to make the canvas stick: double-sided tape or poured glue. We only use poured glue, as it is of a much higher quality and more comfortable to work with. The glue bonds well with the canvas, remains elastic and the adhesive strength is maintained for a long time.
If you have ever had a Diamond Painting where the use of non-quality double-sided adhesive tape resulted in dried-out adhesive surfaces or unsightly storage marks such as tears, air bubbles or creases, you will appreciate our high-quality paintings with poured glue.

5. Excellent diamonds for the most beautiful diamond pictures

Brilliant colours, perfect shine, an even shape and of the same size should be the diamonds so that they can be processed well. For angular diamonds, there is therefore no way around resin diamonds to fulfil these characteristics. For this reason, the angular stones in our artist’s picture sets are exclusively made of resin, so that they can be laid evenly, fit accurately and shine perfectly. It is also important for round diamonds to be the same size, evenly shaped and have a good cut to sparkle beautifully in the light. High quality crafted round stones can be both resin and acrylic to meet these criteria and the diamonds in our Carat Art Collection images meet all of these criteria.
A great deal of precision and expertise is required in the production of even stones and therefore these stones are more expensive to purchase. For this reason, some suppliers of Diamond Paintings sell their sets with inferior stones.
However, anyone who has already worked with diamond painting stones that were of different sizes or unevenly shaped or were completely dull and hardly sparkled knows how little fun it is to work with them and how important high-quality diamonds are for a diamond painting.

6. Rendering reworked by hand

Our artist images are all very elaborately and pixel by pixel post-processed by hand by ourselves. Details are brought out, colours optimised and unnecessary confetti removed. Even the special glittering AB diamonds with their “Aurora Borealis” effect are set manually by us. We do not simply replace entire colours with the corresponding AB colours, but use these glittering stones specifically for perfect accents. For each motif, about 9-12 hours of manual work go into the development and realisation of a Carat Art rendering. Our renderings are very important to us, which is why, unlike almost all other Diamond Painting Shops, we create them ourselves and do not have them done by external production partners. This gives our paintings a style of their own that sets them apart from other providers.
Low-priced providers have their pictures automatically converted by a computer programme in a few seconds without any time expenditure and without post-processing. This results in no labour costs, but of course these images also lack clearly recognisable details, but instead have a lot of unnecessary confetti and often also inappropriate colours.

7. Optimal size of the diamond painting

With some providers, you can determine the size of the diamond painting yourself. Actually nice, but if you can choose any motif in very small sizes and without preview, the surprise comes for many when the diamond painting arrives at home. If the conversion is too small, the result is a very pixelated picture, without details and the motif appears blurred and can only be recognised with difficulty or not at all.
With Carat Art Collection pictures, every motif is converted to the optimal size. For this, we test different variations beforehand and decide on the basis of the test renderings which is the most advantageous size for each diamond image. It is always best if it is neither too large nor too small, because just as an image that has been converted too small no longer looks beautiful, a motif that has been converted unnecessarily large can also look less good.

8. One-of-a-kind artworks, by artists who get paid for it

With a Diamond Painting Set from our Carat Art Collections collection, you will receive an exclusive artwork from one of our selected artists as a template for your very special Diamond Painting. This means that we work with these artists and not only are they credited, but of course they receive the financial reward for their work that they deserve in return for us transforming their artwork into glittering Diamond Paintings.
Working with artists from all over the world is very important to us at Carat Art, because it is only through the great work of talented artists that we can offer our beautiful Diamond Art paintings. We spend a lot of time searching for young and often still unknown artists in order to turn even more beautiful works of art into diamond pictures and at the same time to give artists the opportunity to earn money with their art and to become better known.
Therefore, in our shop you will always find new Diamond Painting Sets with exclusively licensed motifs from our Carat Artists, which are not available anywhere else.
Unfortunately, the rights of artists are not respected everywhere and therefore you will find pictures from some suppliers without the right to use the corresponding works as a template. Of course, these diamond pictures are then cheaper, but if the artists are not mentioned, they are of course not paid for their work.

9. Shipping from Germany

Part of our service is that our diamond pictures are not produced after they have been ordered and already paid for. Our pictures are developed, produced and delivered to Germany. Only when the goods are in our German warehouse, they go on sale and can be with our customers within a few days.
With many cheap suppliers, delivery times of 6-14 weeks are normal, whereby the customer first pays for the goods, and then they are produced and shipped directly from the production site to the customer. As a result, these suppliers have no production or storage costs themselves.
We, on the other hand, bear the complete production costs of an entire production in advance, pay rent for storage space and pay German salaries for packaging and shipping.
This way, our customers do not have to pay in advance for weeks, they have their desired products in a few days and, by the way, they support a small local company and jobs in our country at the same time.

10. customer service

We are a small family business based in southern Germany. Our philosophy is that we want to make our customers happy with our products, which we develop ourselves with a lot of heart and passion and have produced for our customers. Nevertheless, we are aware that mistakes can happen and that we cannot always have everything in hand to avoid this. For this reason, we are always there for our customers. Customer service is an important part of our business. Whether by e-mail, PN or telephone, you can reach us and we always try to find a solution. With Carat Art Collection pictures, you not only get an exclusive artist’s motif that is developed in Germany and sold from Germany, but you also get the guarantee that we are available, provide information and are happy to help if we can.
